How do snails move, and what do they teach us about movement?

At a snail's pace

Yes, let's address the elephant in the room. Snails are slow-moving beings in comparison to human beings. However, how does such a comparison matter, as we are comparing two different species altogether. Aren't we?

I am sure if we ask a snail about its pace, it would be quite content with its speed. This brings me to the question: how do snails move?

Do they jump? Do they glide? Do they move at all?

Movement in snails

Crawling is the most prominent movement in snails. They move in specific directions, unlike mussels. Their movements are in the form of waves and are guided by their sole/foot (flat underside of their bodies). Research suggests that the front end of the foot is well-developed and has most of its sense organs such as the tentacles and eyes. Together, a snail's head and foot are called cephalapodium. Cephalopodium is a typical feature of all gastropods. Snails leave a trail of slime behind when they crawl from one point to another. This happens because there is a large mucous gland near the sole that is activated during movement. The mucous reduces friction during movement and allows smoother movements too.

Isn't it fascinating, as to how perfect a snail's body is for its type of movement?

Snails teach about manifestation

This week, I have spent some time with my angels (my Pegasian and baby unicorn guides) and baby snails. Together, they taught me to trust the pace of my life. I observed a baby snail move for some time, and it was like it was telling me that I could also move smoothly. This message came at a time when I was doubting my manifestations and was frustrated with the amount of time my manifestations were taking to come as blessings into my life. I do believe that movement is essential for manifestation. However, the baby snails and my angels have taught me that belief in one's pace is also required for successful manifestations.

So, my friend, have you had the chance to observe a snail lately?

If you do stumble upon one, it might be helpful to observe them and allow them to teach you about your life :).

Please remember, snails are harmless and they have the capacity to be our friends!

:D
