Snail-time for billionaires
Snail-time for billionaires

As someone with ambitious financial goals, every now and then, I find myself thinking about the wealthy. I am mostly inspired by the wealthy; however, I do wonder if the wealthy are able to live slowly.

I say that because billionaires are usually the ones running multiple businesses. I could be wrong, but building and managing multiple businesses would require investing in consistent effort, time, and energy. I imagine, they could come across various types of mental and environmental stimuli on a day-to-day basis, too.

Which is why, I felt that blogging about snails, slow living, and mindfulness practices could help billionaires.

Let’s discuss some reasons why snail time and slow living habits can help billionaires. Here are my thoughts:

Gaining Mental Clarity and Better Decision-Making

Billionaires would have to make high-stake and possibly medium-stake decisions frequently, which would require a significant amount of mental effort, difficult conversations, and thorough research work. All of which could be highly stimulating for one’s nervous system.

Sometimes, individuals may feel the need to take some time out before making these decisions, especially if they feel they are being influenced by external opinions.

As someone who has spent time with snails, I can assure you that snails can slow our nervous systems down to a point where our brain feels like it has had a genuine mental break.

When we spend time in nature or with snails, and if we choose to, we could verbalise our problems. This could, in turn, make us feel as though we have released the emotional weight our problems were making us carry.

Snails also make great companions. It could so happen that what we cannot discuss with colleagues, we can process quietly in nature or even symbolically with snails.

And if one is intuitive, they may even receive unexpected clarity or insights.

Imagine gaining clarity on billion-dollar decisions during a quiet moment in nature.

Wouldn’t that be powerful?

Hail snails!

How Slowing Down Increases Sensitivity and Intuition?

Slowing down increases one’s emotional sensitivity and awareness.

As a highly sensitive person, I can assure you that I am deeply intrigued by the subject of sensitivity. Spending time with snails and in nature can increase one’s awareness and perception further.

This is because such moments help us see things from different perspectives. Also, quiet observation can enhance intuitive thinking and inner guidance.

Snails can symbolically act as reminders of patience, awareness, and presence.

And if a billionaire finds themselves drawn to slow moments during important decision-making phases, it may not be a coincidence.

It may sound unusual to think of slow living improving sensitivity and decision-making, but it is not.

For example, when we paint, we become sensitive to colours, which opens up the doors of our minds. Our creative ideas begin to flow more freely.

In my opinion, snail time can be looked at as a mindfulness practice, similar to engaging with colours—an activity that deepens our understanding of ourselves, our emotions, and our challenges.

Nervous System Regulation and Deep Thinking

When I first began spending time with snails, I had just discovered that I was highly sensitive. This meant I was dealing with high levels of stimulation and unprocessed information.

Snail time made it easier for me to process information, as it creates a feeling of being deeply connected to nature.

They also have a calming effect that helps clear mental clutter. However, one would have to spend time with them patiently.

Billionaires could process complex problems or overwhelming information during such slow moments, as it allows the mind to reset and gain fresh perspectives.

Also, engaging in slow, mindful activities can soften the nervous system and help release the effects of overstimulation.

Our brain begins to feel like it has the space to expand and function more effectively, even after a short period of slow living.

Observing slow movement in nature can also regulate our thoughts and mental energy.

And a regulated mind makes better, clearer decisions.

Wouldn’t you agree?

Slow Living and Self-Love for High Performers

Billionaires are often in situations where they must think about large communities, global impact, and their families.

In the process of building success, they may sometimes overlook self-love and personal well-being, as most of their time and energy is directed outward.

Slow living can make it possible for high achievers to have it all.

Here, “having it all” includes reconnecting with one’s inner child.

Self-love also means creating time, energy, and space for oneself.

And something as simple as slowing down, sipping tea mindfully, or observing nature can bring a sense of joy and emotional balance.

The Shift from Control to Trust and Intuition

Billionaires often manage multiple responsibilities—businesses, teams, decisions, and communities.

In doing so, it can become challenging to listen to their inner voice or intuition.

I do believe that many successful individuals are naturally intuitive. However, during high-pressure situations, it may become difficult to access that inner guidance.

And during such times, slowing down can help.

Even something as simple as searching for a snail in a garden requires patience, awareness, and trust rather than logic.

This act itself becomes a practice in intuition.

It can be a reminder to trust that clarity exists—even if we cannot immediately see it.

Strengthening intuition can support not just better decisions, but a more fulfilling and aligned life.

I would like to end this post by sharing that slow living and mindful practices may feel far from reach for billionaires or high performers.

However, with a little intention and planning, it is possible to integrate slower, more meaningful moments into daily life.
